Not only it motivates great physical performance and offers a great team spirit, but it also brings a unique set of values useful in both sport and life. It is a fast-growing sport worldwide and our goal is to ensure Sierra Leone doesn’t stay aside. Join us on our mission – play fair, play well, fly high!
Spirit of the Game
​
Ultimate is the only sport which is played without referees even on the World Championships. It is because of the Spirit of the Game approach – it’s every player’s personal responsibility and personal honour to play according to the rules, communicate well and play fair-play at all costs. The opponent is seen not as an enemy but as a partner to help us become the best version of ourselves, both physically and in spirit.

No matter your gender, age, background or physical condition, ultimate and other frisbee sports are open to you. You can join with intent to progress to professional athlete level, or just play a weekend fun game with your friends. Regardless of your level, we are here to support you to have a good time. Start playing with existing teams, create your own group or join our national beginner training camps!

We are passionate about promoting ultimate frisbee in schools, recognizing it as an exceptional sport that transcends physical boundaries and instils invaluable life skills. Through our Schools Program, we aim to introduce the Spirit of the Game to young minds, fostering a culture of fair play, collaboration, and respect. Ultimate is not just a game; it’s a classroom where lessons of teamwork, communication, and personal growth unfold with every throw and catch.

Our ambition and goals are great. Not only we strive to promote flying disc sports and represent Sierra Leone internationally, we care to improve communities around us. We encourage youth to sports and fair-play approach in life, we reach out to disadvantaged communities, we work with Kush-drug addicts. We promote democratic participation and gender equality. But living in one of the poorest countries on Earth, we can do so much more thanks to your help.

Although ultimate in Sierra Leone was played in isolated community for nearly two decades, we have experienced rapid growth only since 2023. With new players, new projects and ideas, we decided to organize ourselves to achieve more. Starting Sierra Leone Flying Disc Association, we are here to support our communities and spread our love for frisbee.
